My work is warm, inviting, and fun—made to be used and loved daily. I make simple, enduring forms with intricate carvings that invite interaction. Whether you're sipping coffee from a favorite mug or setting the table with handmade plates, I hope my ceramics add a touch of joy to your routine.

PROCESS

The vast majority of my pieces start on the pottery wheel. Each piece is thrown on the wheel in a form that allows it to endure daily use, from table to dishwasher and back. I give consideration to how a cup feels on the lip, how a bowl might withstand daily use, and how a handle might feel in your hand.

Once partially dry, I begin to carve. While I have a general idea of the design, I allow the form to dictate the shapes and size of the motifs. This lends spontaneity and uniqueness to each piece.

I carefully sand away unwanted burrs and marks to ensure a smooth surface. After the bisque firing, I finish with glazes that break over the carved surface to create drama and interest. All of my pieces are fired to cone 10 in a reduction kiln.
